Ningún país está listo para logra la igualdad de género en 2030 – Guardian

Ningún país va camino a lograr la igualdad de género para el año 2030, según el informe del primer índice que mide el progreso en comparación con una serie de objetivos acordados a nivel internacional.

Melinda Gates, copresidenta de Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, dijo que el índice, lanzado el lunes, “debería ser una señal de alarma para que el mundo despierte”.

Incluso los países nórdicos, que tienen un puntaje alto en el índice, necesitarían dar grandes saltos para lograr los compromisos de género en los 17 objetivos de desarrollo sostenible (ODS), a los que 193 países se comprometieron en 2015. Los objetivos son el plan de acción global para terminar con la pobreza y la desigualdad y poner fin a la crisis climática. La fecha límite es el año 2030.
